There are 5,006 auction companies with 177 branches and 9,165 auctioneers in China by the end of June, 2010. In the first half of 2010, the turnover in auction industry rose by 122% year on year to 250.655 billion yuan, down by 30% compared with the previous period.
The turnover in the first and second quarter of 2010 respectively rose by 262% and 48.46% year on year but decreased by 41.43% and 21.97% compared with the previous quarter. Except for the industrial features of low turnover at the start and high turnover in the end, the auction industry basically surmounted the financial crisis and grew steadily.
