Chinese Enterprise Winning the First Bid on EU's Large-scale Infrastructure Project |

On February 26, Gao Hucheng, the visiting Chinese Commerce Vice-Minister and head of Chinese delegation to China-Poland Economic Joint Committee, met with Cezary Grabarczyk, Polish Minister of Infrastructure. The two sides exchanged views on cooperation in infrastructure development.
Gao expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the infrastructure cooperation. Recently, a China-Poland consortium won a contract on Polish A2 Highway Project, which was the first successful bid by the cooperation of Chinese and Polish enterprises and also the first successful bid for Chinese enterprises in EU countries. He believed that the Chinese enterprise had the ability to build the high-quality A2 Highway in accordance with contracts and EU standards with its local partners and make such project as model in the infrastructure construction cooperation with local enterprises in EU countries.
Grabarczyk welcomed that Chinese enterprises participated in Polish infrastructure construction and expressed his congratulations for the successful bid of the China-Poland consortium. Poland welcomed qualified Chinese engineering enterprises to participate in Polish infrastructure construction. The measure that welcomed more qualified foreign contractors to Polish market to participate in the competition is beneficial for the development of Polish infrastructure construction and complies with the benefit of state and people. He also introduced the programming and projects with priority in Polish infrastructure construction and hoped that more Chinese enterprises could participate in such projects.
Gao gave an introduction to numbers of projects on infrastructure construction contracted by Chinese enterprises during three decades of reform and opening up. And Chinese enterprises accumulated rich experiences and had high-level management and technologies. Chinese enterprises are willing to enlarge cooperation and make common development with local enterprises. The Chinese government will encourage her powerful enterprises participate in such construction and make contribution to the social and economic development of Poland. Gao believed that the bilateral cooperation in the infrastructure construction would make great progress by the promotion of the two governments.
